One of the favorite things we offer is to bring our summer camp atmosphere to your arena on days the kids have off from school.
We bring our coordination equipment and classroom electronics, and host a full day of Netscience Camp that includes:
On-ice Training - Goalie-Specific Footwork, Fundamental mechanics and scoring situations.
Classroom Lecture - Sports Psychology, Tactical Discussion and the Science of Skill Acquisition.
Eye Performance Training - Learn to Juggle, Solo and Pairs Coordination and everyone's favorite Nerf Gun Tracking!
We allow 6 total goaltenders per group to provide an optimized and personal experience devoted to each goalie's age and skill level.
The most cost effective method is through your Minor Hockey Association.
Please request that Netscience provide the goaltenders in your Minor Hockey Association the quality development that they deserve!
Having a big sale, on-site celebrity, or other event? Be sure to announce it so everybody knows and gets excited about it.
Each day starts on the ice for 1 hour of developing goalie specific footwork, butterfly mobility and puck handling skills.
Mobility sessions pertain to the day’s theme and incorporate movement patterns anticipated in the up-coming puck-stopping session. This time allows for advanced edgework practice and time to perfect details that would otherwise be combined in game scenarios
Mobility sessions are directly followed by a quick off-ice cool down, then meal time.
After mobility sessions, goaltenders and staff meet and go together for our meal and classroom lecture/video analysis.
Our Hotel Breakfast(provided by Best Western Hotel) is way over the top and much more amazing than we require, but we'll take it! Breakfast Buffet includes Bacon, Sausage,
Build-your-own-(Chocolate/Berry)Waffles, Taters, Scrambled Eggs, Juice and much more.
Spiro's Family Restaurant absolutely spoils us for supper with the best pasta in town. Additionally, they provide a giant Caesar salad bowl, and 2 slices of delicious garlic(sometimes cheesy) bread per athlete.
Pasta's rotate through Cheesy Spaghetti, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Baked Lasagna.
Both restaurants are located within 100 meters from our headquarters, the Servus Sports Centre in Lloydminster.
Once the athletes have had a chance to dig in, we will get into our classroom portion of the day. Classroom topics include sports psychology, tactical discussion and the science of skill acquisition.
After every puck-stopping session, goalies have the opportunity to review their entire time in goal at each station. Video Review provides time for instructors to make extra corrections and have more dialog about their station and scoring situation.
It also allows athletes to see their own mistakes, making necessary corrections easier to diagnose by coach, and correct by goaltender.
Athletes who learn to teach themselves to develop skills will have a great advantage over those who can only learn from others.
Vision Training utilizes the VIZUAL EDGE - Vision Performance Training System.
Visit www.vizualedge.com/netsciencegoaltending to benefit from the full program!
Goalies registered in the 6-month Vizual Edge program receive a -$52.50 discount in 2020 Summer Camp.
Our coordination training sessions incorporate juggling progressions(learning to juggle and advanced patterns), floor hockey and game simulation that maximize skill transfer and fun.
Goalies will learn the proper way to prepare for games by building a repertoire of pre-game rituals that include:
1. Visual Engagement Exercises;
-deliberate practice for hand-eye coordination improvement
-building confidence and flow before games
2. Physical preparation (warm-up) that cover goalie-specific mobility and body-ignition techniques used by pro-athletes to ensure goalies are feeling unbreakable and lightning quick before puck drop.
Goaltenders receive a fresh set of raquette balls to keep in their equipment bags and use during and after camp for pregame rituals and juggling/coordination practice at home.
Puck Stopping sessions will all start with a 15 minute visual warm-up, where goalies will stop 150-200 shots before breaking into situational stations. Each puck stopping session will have a different focus and lesson plan, each visual warm-up will correspond to that days programming.
The next 60 minutes consist of scoring situations that adhere to the days theme.
Typical daily focus combinations are Active Hands/Butterfly Mobility, Rebound Recovery/Traffic Control, Adaptive Post-Play/Puck Handling etc.
Every station includes an experienced instructor and 2 Midget AAA or Jr. Shooters.
Stations utilize different training tools for skill isolation and game-like simulation.
ei. Swivel Vision Goggles and X-Tracker Masks
Screen and Deflection boards
Miniature pucks and White pucks.
Free Gatorade is provided for goalies during all puck stopping sessions.
To finish each day, a certified professional meditation instructor gives our athletes a calming and reassuring departure.
The purpose of meditation is to be responsible for our inner dialog and to develop better concentration and emotional control.
Our athletes complete a condensed version of a usually 9-hour guide to self awareness.
It is a favorite for goalies and parents!
Athletes will get back into dryland attire, and quietly enter the area in which our meditation practice will occur. Mats, bolsters, water and towels are waiting for goalies to arrive.
NetScience Goaltending was formed with one overarching fundamental truth in mind: The most important concept of playing sports, any sport, is having fun. It matters not if a child is a goaltender, a forward, defender, or a participant in tennis or golf, the main reason a child(or any of us), play and compete is to enjoy themselves. Add making friends and the thrill growing confidence through developing skills they’ve yet to master, hockey is a perfect storm of positivity and well-being.
Becoming a better goaltender is difficult. There are many adversities and tribulations to overcome but it is much easier to work hard and improve if the goaltender enjoys the program they are using to develop. Netscience Goaltending provides that and it is our goal to instill the competitive edge in goaltenders through promoting a fun, challenging and educational experience.
It won't be easy. It will be worth it. Join us this season and get better.
Asking the universe for what you want is simple - you must do what it takes to DESERVE YOUR GOAL. Achievements are accomplished by making sacrifices.
Motivation is everywhere:
You didn't make the team? Good. More time to get better.
You got beat? Good. You learned.
You're too tired, too sore, too stiff? Good. Now you know your weaknesses.
All deficiencies can be eradicated with effort and welcomed change. There is no short cut, there is no hack. You have to earn it.
Everyone who has ever made it was just some kid, from somewhere. Why not you? If you're that kid...
Please leave your name, email, a short message regarding your inquiry and a number to reach you on and we will get back to you at our next available time. Have a great day!
